Churt Wasps vs Yateley – Post Match Report

An early first half goal from Daniel Vickery (Man of the Match ) was well deserved and at which point I thought the flood gates would open! The midfield and attack have really started to grasp the training points with regards to ball passing and off ball movement. A first half goal from Yateley, against the run of play drew the teams level at half time.
The second half was much the same with Churt really bossing the ball with exceptional displays in midfield from Ed Shaw (Captain), Will Shaw, Ben Walters and Daniel ‘the engine’ Vickery! Well done to Dan D with smart movement and passing around the box.
Against the run of play Yateley picked off goal 2 and 3 to take the score to 1 – 3. A late and well deserved goal from Will Shaw bought us back to 2 -3. With 2 minutes left we were still in the game but always battling against the clock. Final score 2 – 3.
Well done to defenders Dan T, Jacob Tutt (filling in for Anna), Alex and keeper Zach. I think this was a tough game for you as you all worked really hard but were left disappointed by some opportunistic Yateley goals. I am very proud of how you kept you composure throughout the game.
I pay tribute to Yateley for a good display in defence, but any other day we may of put away 4 – 5 of the many chances we created.

MAFC Eagles vs Churt Wasps – Post Match Report

Very difficult to summarise the game as there were so many positive points!…but here goes.

Starting with the keeper and overall Man of the Match. Zach Hill put a brave and consistent performance which resulted in 3-4 outstanding saves (incl. a close quarters free kick), and more importantly a clean sheet.

Starting in defence was Ben F and Dan T, some early nerves were very soon eradicated and a solid performance by both players, with Anna L
swapping for Ben first half. Second half saw much the same with some real thought now be given about passing the ball out of defence…well done the defenders!

Midfield (the engine room) started with Ed S and Dan V on the flanks with Ben W commanding the middle. Jacob Tutt joined the fray during the
first half and ran him self ragged along with all the other players….his reward was goal number two in the second half! Jacob
please get plenty of rest tonight! The performance of the midfield was that of a very determined/dogged display with some exceptional solo
runs! I also congratulate Dan T (capt.) who slotted into midfield late in the second half.

Both Ben W and Dan V were very unlucky not to find the back of net with some very near misses.

Up front was Dan D with a good performance which was rewarded with a very early goal at the start of the game that dented the confidence of the home team!
